The Football Best Fit Assistant supports the head coach and offensive/defensive coordinator by assisting with game planning, organizing practice, coaching a specific position group, and instructing players on the rules, regulations, equipment, and proper techniques of the sport. The assistant organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities and exercises as instructed by the head coach and assists in determining game strategy. The candidate must be a highly effective classroom teacher and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Prior knowledge of a Spread Offense/4-2-5 is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coach and develop quarterbacks in mechanics, footwork, throwing technique, decision-making, and leadership. Assist in planning and implementing offensive game strategies and practice plans. Analyze game film to improve player and team performance. Teach offensive terminology, reads, protections, and situational football concepts. Monitor student-athlete academic progress, behavior, and eligibility. Plainview High School (in the Texas Panhandle) has just dropped from 5A to 4A. We are in a 4 team district this new realignment. Looking for a highly motivated best fit football coach. We have some options needed: Defensive Backs Coach, possible co-Defensive Coordinator for the right candidate, Quarterbacks Coach, possible Pass Game Coordinator for the right candidate, and Special Teams Coordinator.
