Build a disciplined, fundamentally-sound unit that emphasizes player development, sportsmanship, academic accountability, and readiness for college, career, or military paths. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and adjust defensive game plans and play-calling during contests. Teach defensive fundamentals, techniques, schemes, and situational awareness in practices and meetings. Coach and mentor defensive position groups (e.g., DL, LB, DB), including individualized player development plans. Plainview High School (in the Texas Panhandle) has just dropped from 5A to 4A. We are in a 4 team district this new realignment. Looking for assistant coaches on both sides of the football (QB or best fit; DL or DB) Varsity QB (possible pass game coordinator) - Prefer a coach with some coaching experience and at the very least, played QB at the college level. The QB coach is responsible for developing QBs from the 7th - 12th grades. If called for an interview, the expectation is to have plans in place to develop QBs at each level. Another expectation is spring QB school/clinic for all program QBs. We run a multiple spread offense out of multiple personnel groups with zone and gap scheme runs, RPOs for those runs, screens, quick game, sprint out, and drop back. Graduating QB threw for nearly 3,000 yards just in the regular season.
