Assistant Softball Coach 

Experience: 

Some experience as a high school assistant coach, knowledge and background to develop, motivate and inspire young players for them to realize individual and team success. Strong hands-on fundamentals knowledge instructs athletes in skills, strategies necessary to achieve success and the ability to act as a role model for the athletic program and school. 

Applicant should possess: 

Effective coaching techniques /fundamentals and skills. Instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athlete.  Uphold the dignity, honor and integrity of the coaching profession. The assistant coach should be diligent in willingness to listen, learn, and grow. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with admin, head coach, staff, students, parents.  The ability to fulfill duties from the head coach promptly. Possess love of the sport and willingness to work with and develop young players. 

Responsibilities:

Displays loyalty to the head coach and total educational program. Develops & Assesses player's skills, manages/monitors players during competition and practice to develop individual growth, and keeps the head softball coach informed of the athletic performance of students. Monitors academics and student/athlete’s behavior & overall management. Willing to Scout opponents and assist with film breakdown.  Familiar with Hudl, SportsYou, MaxPreps. A self-starter who promotes our student /athletes and takes initiative and upgrades knowledge and skills through attending coaching clinics, observations and consultation.  Supports and assists the head coach in various aspects, ensures that equipment and facilities are maintained, and performs administrative duties including uniforms, equipment and inventory throughout the season.  Uphold the philosophy of the head coach/program and continuously emphasize their overall development and foster team cohesion creating a unified approach.
