First Assistant Boys Basketball + 2nd Sport

Plainview High School (in the Texas Panhandle) has just dropped from 5A to 4A for the 2026-2028 realignment. 

Looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, and highly motivated First Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. This position will include a 2nd sport and teaching field.

2nd Sport options: Cross Country/Track & Field 

Teaching Field: Grades 4-8 or 7-12 CERTIFIED English/RLA, Math, Science Composite, Social Studies Composite (possible CTE or junior high Art opening for right candidate). Absolutely no availability for PE or Health. 

No CDL required.  

Salary: Base Pay ($45,000 - $78,520 depending on step)+ $4000 Basketball stipend + $2,500-4,000 depending on 2nd sport stipend ($700 Master's Degree stipend)

Plainview ISD pays $447 per month/per employee towards health care insurance premiums available through the District. Premium expense above $447 per month is the responsibility of the employee.

Plainview ISD offers a $10,000 life insurance policy for each employee--at no cost to the employee.

The district provides an online Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost to the employee.

Full access to the PISD Education Center’s gym and fitness facility (5 a.m.– 8 p.m., daily) at no cost to the employee.
