Job Description

Morton Independent School District is seeking a passionate, driven, and relationship-centered Girls Coach to join our athletic program for the 2026–27 school year. This position includes Assistant Cross Country, Assistant Girls Basketball, and a spring assignment based on best fit, with potential head coaching opportunities.

Position Overview

  • Assistant Coach for:
    • Girls Cross Country (Fall)
    • Girls Basketball (Winter)
  • Spring Sport Assignment:
    • Tennis, Track, or Softball (based on candidate strengths and program needs)
    • Potential Head Coach opportunities in the spring season
  • Support program development and vertical alignment from JH through Varsity
  • Build strong relationships with athletes, parents, and the community
  • Assist with off-season programming and multi-sport athlete development

Additional Responsibilities

  • Promote and support a multi-sport culture
  • Assist in developing strength, conditioning, and skill development systems
  • CDL required (or willingness to obtain within one year)

Teaching Assignment

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate required
  • Social Studies preferred; all certification areas will be considered
  • NO PE
