South Garland High School is seeking a Varsity Girls Basketball Assistant Coach for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the game and a solid basketball foundation, with the ability to teach fundamentals and support program development. This coach must be committed to motivating, mentoring, and building relationships with all athletes while promoting a positive team culture. Responsibilities include assisting with practices, game preparation, skill development, and supporting the head coach in all aspects of the program. Must be CDL certified or be willing to obtain within first year of employment. Sport: Level Softball: JV/Varsity Description Currently 1 opening, TBD on whether it is a Varsity Assistant or a JV Coach Opening. Salary - depends on experience Stipend- JV$3,250 or VA $4,500 2nd sport: Yes for JV coach / None for Varsity Assistant Responsibilities Responsible for supporting the Head Coach in the supervision and development of the program. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting with planning and running game and practice sessions. Supporting the weekly monitoring of student-athletes and academic progress. CDL certifcaiton to drive a school bus. Assisting with community events and special nights. Carrying out assignments and tasks as directed by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
