Position Overview The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the delivery of sports medicine services to student-athletes under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer and/or team physician. This role requires classroom teaching [no teaching cert required]  Primary Responsibilities Assist in the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses Provide first aid and emergency care during practices, games, and events Design and implement rehabilitation and return-to-play programs for injured athletes Support daily operation of the athletic training room , including treatment schedules and athlete care Maintain accurate medical records, injury reports, and treatment documentation

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To plan, coordinate, and supervise all components of the athletic training program for student athletes.  Also work under the direction of the head athletic trainer, school district physician, team physicians, and local physicians to carry out activities in prevention, evaluation, emergency treatment, physical reconditioning, and rehabilitation of injuries. QUALIFICATIONS:   Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree Valid license from Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers and/or BOC certification Current Professional Rescuer CPR and AED certification  First Aid, CPR, AED Instructor (preferred) - or willing to obtain certification Valid TEA Certification (preferred) Current TEA Sports Medicine Course Certification - Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to provide injury prevention, rehabilitation and emergency services Ability to provide practice and game coverage at...
