Edison, New Jersey, The Director of Sport Administration provides administrative and operational support for the Conference’s sport administration, championships, and student-athlete engagement efforts. The position administers assigned sports, assists with the planning and execution of Conference championships, and works closely with the Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The Director also supports scheduling, officiating, awards, and other sport administration initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
Sport Administration & Championships:
Oversee all aspects of the operation and administration of assigned Olympic sports and championships.
Plan, coordinate, and execute Conference championships for assigned sports, including budgets, logistics, and game operations.
Provide direct supervision and leadership to the Directors of Sport Administration, ensuring the effective administration of assigned sports, championships, and Conference initiatives while fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
Conduct coaches’ group meetings for assigned sports to facilitate communication and decision-making.
Assist in the development and implementation of in-season, championship, and administrative policies for assigned sports.
Oversee officiating operations for assigned sports and collaborate with Coordinators of Officials to ensure quality and consistency.
Develop and manage Conference schedules for assigned sports.
Oversee ticketing operations for assigned Conference championships, including pricing, sales, reporting, customer service, and coordination with host institutions and ticketing partners.
Work closely with host institutions, vendors, and partners to ensure all event requirements are met.
Oversee the coordination of statistics, public relations efforts, and record keeping in collaboration with the media relations staff for assigned sports and championships.
Assist with the development and implementation of tiebreaker procedures for assigned sports.
Prepare end-of-season reports, including statistics and feedback from championships.
Administrative Support
Assist with the preparation and distribution of sportsmanship-related correspondence to member institutions.
Assist with the certification of championship eligibility for Conference sports, including verification that member institutions have met the required number of contests for championship eligibility and review of all required forms and documentation.
Assist with beginning-of-year correspondence to member institutions regarding required Conference and NCAA forms, certifications, attestations and related documentation.
Maintain appropriate records and tracking documents related to sportsmanship, championship eligibility and other assigned administrative responsibilities.
Provide administrative support related to NCAA and Conference legislation and policies as they pertain to sport administration and championship operations.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Student-athlete Development:
Provide support for the Student-athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), including coordination and facilitation of meetings and activities.
Awards & Participant Gifts:
Assist with the inventory, and distribution of all Conference awards, trophies, medals, and participant gifts, ensuring consistency with Conference branding standards.
Assist with Coordinating the selection, ordering, and distribution of participant gifts for Conference championships and special events, working closely with member institution administrators, coaches, and vendors to ensure timely delivery.
Event & Championship Support:
Assist in the planning and on-site execution of the annual men’s and women’s basketball championships.
Assist in the planning and execution of all NCAA championships hosted by the Conference.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Senior Associate Commissioner, Sport Administration.
