Savannah, Georgia, As a head coach for SCAD cycling, you’ll prepare talented student-athletes for competition in road, track, cyclocross, and mountain biking. Overall, you’ll train and analyze each cyclist’s performance to help them reach their full potential as a SCAD Bee!
Work hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

As a head coach, you will: Engage in successful community relations across university, city, state, and national communities to build a positive opinion of SCAD Athletics and SCAD cycling Train student-athletes and enhance their cycling knowledge Communicate with students, parents, and physicians to determine student-athletes’ eligibility or ineligibility Establish specific procedures for handling injuries and emergencies Recruit student-athletes for both the women’s and men’s teams
Additionally, you will: Establish practice and tournament schedules Provide complete and detailed itineraries for tournament trips Monitor midterm and final grades of each student-athlete Procure essential uniforms, gear, and equipment
Strong candidates will demonstrate: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Discipline, honesty, and integrity while handling multiple priorities Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite, specifically Word and Excel
Preferred qualifications: At least one year of experience in an academic environment
Travel required: 20–40%
