NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Rules Interpreter | NCAA

Nationwide, The NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee is requesting applications from interested individuals to serve as the NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Rules Interpreter. The rules interpreter is the national interpreter for women’s acrobatics and tumbling rules throughout the year, working with the NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee and the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association Rules Committee and Scoring Committee. This position is a one-year term, renewable each year. The official term will begin when the hiring process is completed (in a typical year, the term begins September 1). A stipend is paid during the term. Reports to: NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee and NCAA national office staff with responsibilities to the Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee. Duties, Requirements and Responsibilities: a. Record rules modifications adopted by the committee and update the rules modifications document accordingly; b. Adhere to deadlines in submitting updated or new material for the modifications document; c. Collaborate with the NCATA on the technical accuracy of the rules and the NCAA committee on the accuracy of rules modifications; d. Act as the official interpreter of the rules between meetings of the committee in collaboration with the NCATA; e. Collaborate with the NCATA on a list of proposals for feedback by the committee at the annual meeting; f. Develop annual rules survey to be sent to coaches, administrators, officials and conference commissioners, if requested; g. Attend the National Collegiate Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Championships as the official rules interpreter and for the committee, if requested; h. Participate in videoconferences with the committee and NCAA staff liaison, if requested; i. Attendance (virtually or in-person) at committee’s annual meeting to provide an annual report, if requested; j. Cannot be an active NCAA women’s acrobatics and tumbling coach or official; and k. Perform other duties as directed by the NCAA staff and/or the NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee. Preferred Qualifications and Minimum Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relate effectively with officials and coaches on a national level. Extensive knowledge of the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association rules. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Ability to use email as a means of correspondence. Ability to use computer technology as a means of education, if requested. Experience in officiating or coaching at the collegiate level. Cannot be an active NCAA women’s acrobatics and tumbling coach or official.
