NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling National Assignor | NCAA

Nationwide, The NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee is requesting applications from interested individuals to serve as the NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling National Assignor. The national assignor will select officials based on evaluations, rankings and any other developed criteria. The national assignor will work with the NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee. This position is a one-year term, renewable each year. The official term will begin when the hiring process is completed (in a typical year, the term begins September 1). A stipend is paid during the term. Reports to: NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee and NCAA national office staff with responsibilities to the Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee. Duties, Requirements and Responsibilities: a. Maintain a regional and national database of officials; b. Serve as a liaison in the area of officiating to the NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee; c. Participate in videoconferences with the committee and NCAA staff liaison, if requested; d. Assign officials for the National Collegiate Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Championships, subject to the approval of the committee and NCAA staff; e. Develop a strategy to ensure the pool of officials provides opportunities for a cross section of officials from all experience levels and geographic regions; f. Ensure officials selected to officiate postseason are in compliance with the criteria set forth for selection; g. Notify officials of their assignments; h. Collaborate with the NCATA to develop and execute a plan to recruit new officials; i. Communicate championship travel, competition and meeting times along with lodging arrangements with each official; j. Attendance (virtually or in-person) at committee’s annual meeting to provide an annual report, if requested; k. Attend the National Collegiate Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Championships to evaluate officials, if requested; l. Shall not be an active NCAA women’s acrobatics and tumbling coach or officiate NCAA postseason; and m. Perform other duties as directed by the NCAA staff and/or the NCAA Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling Committee. Preferred Qualifications and Minimum Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relate effectively with officials and coaches on a national level. Extensive knowledge of the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association rules. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Ability to use email as a means of correspondence. Ability to use computer technology as a means of education, if requested. Experience in officiating or coaching at the collegiate level. Cannot be an active NCAA women’s acrobatics and tumbling coach, official or conference coordinator/assignor.
