North Charleston, South Carolina, Overview of Position
The job duties of the Assistant AD for Marketing and Game Experience include oversight of all athletic promotions, marketing, and game experience. The Assistant AD for Marketing and Game Experience is responsible for the enhancement of brand awareness for CSU athletics locally, regionally, and nationally. Title and pay will be determined based on experience.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Master's preferred but not required)
Work Performed and Responsibilities
Marketing & Branding
Develop and execute a department marketing plan to enhance all NCAA Division I programs
Maintaining records of TURF forms and approvals for all logo use within the department
Provide coaches and staff with guidance on brand awareness for both CSU and the athletic department
Communicate Big South Conference branding guidelines as required
Serve as liaison with university Bookstore
Game Experience & Promotions
Lead department promotional activities for all university and community constituencies
Collaborate with various groups on and off campus to increase participation, enthusiasm, and spirit
Administer and develop opportunities for game day promotions, half-time shows, and other promotional events
Manage and execute student/fan organizations such as Blue Crew and Bucky’s Brigade (Kids Buc Club)
Work with Big South Conference to fulfill promotional requirements
Bid out quotes for all promotional materials
Author all gameday scripts and PA reads for announcers
Oversee Cheer, Dance and Mascot program
Sponsorships & Advertising Sales
Collaborate with Director of Athletics and Associate AD for External Operations for all potential sponsors including game day sponsorships
Assist in Low Country community appreciation events
Oversees all sponsorship agreement contracts and execution of contract terms
Invoices each sponsor monthly per the terms of contract on file
Manages scoreboard advertisement contracts and coordinates requirement logos and graphics to be displayed
Work with Big South Conference to fulfill corporate sponsorship requirements
Buc Club and Ticket Operations
Assist Associate AD for External Operations with annual ticket sale strategy
Assist with Buc Club membership processing and maintain records
Plan and organize the annual Buc Club golf tournament fundraiser event
Other Duties Assigned by Direct Supervisor
Qualifications
Work Experience Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Agree to uphold Charleston Southern University community standards
3-5 Years in related field, preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with industry standards, other federal, state, and local standards
Nights and weekend work required as needed
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
