The Academy of Central Florida is seeking a high-energy, motivated Basketball Coach & Postgrad Program Host to join our basketball program in Orlando, Florida.
This position is designed for someone who wants to be heavily involved in the daily development of student-athletes both on and off the basketball court. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, dependable leader, and passionate basketball professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced academy environment.
Position Responsibilities
Basketball Coaching & Player Development
Assist with daily basketball practices, workouts, and player development sessions.
Help plan and execute individual and team skill-development workouts.
Assist with strength, conditioning, recovery, and player-development programming.
Support game preparation, scouting, film breakdown, and opponent analysis.
Assist coaching staff during games, practices, tournaments, showcases, and team events.
Help maintain a competitive, disciplined, and professional basketball culture.
Mentor student-athletes regarding basketball development, college preparation, academics, discipline, and personal growth.
Postgrad Program Host & Player Supervision
Help oversee postgrad student-athletes during designated hours outside of basketball activities.
Serve as a positive adult leader and mentor for players within the program.
Assist with maintaining structure, accountability, curfews, schedules, and program expectations.
Help coordinate transportation for practices, workouts, games, school-related activities, and other program needs.
Communicate with coaching staff and administration regarding player needs, concerns, schedules, and daily operations.
Assist with maintaining a safe, organized, positive, and professional environment for all student-athletes.
Recruiting & Program Support
Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes.
Communicate with players, families, coaches, and basketball contacts when needed.
Help evaluate prospective players through film, workouts, and live evaluations.
Assist with showcases, camps, events, social media content, and other program activities.
Be willing to contribute wherever needed to help the program operate and grow.
Requirements
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required.
Must be comfortable driving student-athletes as part of program responsibilities.
Basketball coaching, playing, training, or player-development experience preferred.
Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and player development.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Responsible, dependable, organized, and professional.
Must be comfortable supervising and mentoring young adult student-athletes.
Must be willing to work at a consistently high energy level in a demanding sports environment.
Must be flexible regarding evenings, weekends, games, tournaments, travel, and changing basketball schedules.
Must be a team player willing to assist outside of traditional coaching duties when necessary.
Background check required.
