Boston, Massachusetts, Simmons University, an NCAA Division III member of The Great Northeast Athletic Conference is accepting applications for the position of Head Swim Coach/Aquatics Director. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, this position is responsible for the direction of the swimming & diving program, including, but not limited to the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student athletes, supervision of the assistant coach(es), budget management, technique coaching, innovation regarding fundraising and alumni engagement. In addition, this role oversees the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of all aquatic facilities, ensuring a high-quality user experience. We are opening a state of the art aquatics facility in January 2027 that will include a competition pool, diving pit, dryland training room, locker rooms and MORE! Head Coach: Be present and conduct all official practices and home meets Create pre-season, traditional season, and off-season practice schedules Teach individual technique and meet strategy Mange team travel trips Hire, train and supervise assistant coaching staff (2) Ensure all NCAA eligibility and medical clearance processes in coordination with Director of Sports medicine Manage team funds and fundraising activities Conduct athlete leadership training Manage family/parent support and engagement Mentor and counsel individual athletes with issues of concern and make appropriate referrals Nationally recruit academically qualified student athletes Coordinate and conduct annual alumnae meet Attend and participate in departmental, conference and university-wide meetings related to duties and responsibilities. Serve on departmental and/or university, conference, regional and national committees as requested. Aquatics Director: Serve as Certified Pool Operator and hire, train and supervise lifeguards Maintain accurate records and standards required for Health & Safety Inspection Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state and local Health and Safety Regulations and conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance Responsible for Inventory of pool chemicals and supplies Oversee the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of all aquatic facilities, ensuring a high-quality user experience Manage contracts with external rental groups Maximize pool usage to serve all constituents OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned based on skills and interests of the applicant REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Certified Pool Operator Lifeguard Certification A Bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of 3 years of college coaching experience Ability to use Hy-Tek Meet Manager and Team Manager  Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations governing recruitment, player eligibility and related functions is required Applicant must hold a valid driver's license   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree is preferred Head coaching experience preferred Basic knowledge of Colorado Time Systems  Collegiate swimming experience is also preferred.
