Hollow Rock Racquet & Swim Club is seeking an experienced, energetic, and passionate Director of Junior Tennis Development to join our Racquets Team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a coach who is passionate about developing junior players, enjoys leading a team, and wants to help shape one of the Triangle Area's best Junior Programs.

Working directly with the Director of Racquets, you will help lead our junior development pathway while delivering exceptional coaching both on and off the court.

Position Overview

This is a full-time leadership position consisting of approximately:

  • 70% On-Court Coaching
  • 30% Administrative Responsibilities

The position includes a guaranteed package of 25 on-court coaching hours per week, along with administrative responsibilities supporting the continued growth of our Junior Tennis Program.

Primary Responsibilities - On Court

  • Lead high-quality junior clinics for players of all ages and levels.
  • Coach Select and High-Performance players.
  • Deliver private lessons and small-group training.
  • Organize competitive match play.
  • Prepare players for USTA competition.
  • Provide occasional coaching at local and sectional USTA tournaments.

Administration

  • Assist with the daily management of the Junior Tennis Program.
  • Support scheduling, player evaluations, and seasonal planning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding player development.
  • Organize junior events, camps, tournaments, and special programs.
  • Collaborate on curriculum development and player pathway planning.
  • Help lead and mentor the junior coaching staff.
  • Support the Director of Racquets in the continued growth of the department.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive experience coaching competitive junior tennis players.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Has a passion for long-term player development.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team-first environment.
  • Communicates effectively with players, parents, and staff.
  • Is willing to travel occasionally to coach players at USTA tournaments.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) RSPA or USPTA certification.

Preferred Background

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Former ATP or WTA Tour coach.
  • Former ATP or WTA player.
  • Former NCAA Division I player from a nationally competitive program.
  • UTR 12+ (or equivalent high-performance playing background).
  • Proven success developing nationally and sectionally ranked junior players.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time leadership position.
  • Guaranteed package of 25 on-court coaching hours per week.
  • Approximately 70% coaching / 30% administration.
  • Competitive total compensation package starting at $100,000+, based on experience and qualifications.
