We are seeking a high-energy, career-minded Tennis Professional who is passionate about teaching, building relationships, and growing their lesson book. Position Summary

Provide exceptional private and group tennis instruction for Jack Kramer Tennis Club members and their guests. Work alongside the Director of Tennis and club management to develop innovative clinics, leagues, tournaments, camps, and social events that encourage participation and member engagement. The ideal candidate is excited about building a full lesson schedule while contributing to a vibrant and growing tennis community.

Essential Duties

Teaching & Player Development

  • Teach private, semi-private, and group tennis lessons for adults and juniors.
  • Conduct clinics, team practices, camps, and specialty programs.
  • Build and maintain a strong personal lesson book through exceptional instruction and member engagement.
  • Support junior development programs through clinics, camps, match preparation, and player development.
  • Assist members in identifying appropriate programs, leagues, and instructional opportunities.
  • Create a fun, positive, and inclusive learning environment for players of all ages and abilities.

Member Programming & Events

  • Assist with planning and executing club tournaments, leagues, mixers, round robins, and social events.
  • Encourage member participation through creative programming and outstanding customer service.
  • Support league teams with coaching and instruction during practices and clinics.
  • Foster long-term relationships with members while promoting the club's tennis programs.

Position Expectations

  • Build and maintain a strong personal lesson schedule.
  • Teach approximately 20–30 on-court instructional hours per week (depending on season and demand).
  • Assist with clinics, camps, tournaments, and member events.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.
  • Represent Jack Kramer Tennis Club professionally both on and off the court.
  • Ability to lift and transport tennis equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of tennis teaching experience preferred.
  • RSPA (formerly USPTA) or PTR Professional Certification preferred.
  • USTA Safe Play/SafeSport certification required (or ability to obtain before employment).
  • Strong tennis playing background (4.5 NTRP or higher preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic about building a successful lesson business.
  • Passion for providing exceptional member service.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
