Job Description

Fargo, North Dakota, To work with the NDSU Athletic Development team, NDSU Foundation and Team Makers in directing and coordinating activities related to fundraising for Athletics. Focused on annual giving and major gift solicitation including capital projects, endowments, and special projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work with the Senior Associate Athletic Director/Team Makers Executive Director to develop an annual gift solicitation plan, including goals, quantifiable objectives and strategies for achievement. Work with alumni and donors to determine their philanthropic interests, with an immediate focus on Athletics’ fundraising goals. Attend athletic activities and donor events. Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and deferred gifts to the Athletic Department. Assist in soliciting leadership gifts to the Athletic funds in Team Makers and the NDSU Foundation. Be willing to make “cold calls” and to cultivate relationships with and solicit individuals and corporations. Effectively utilize campus prospect management systems (Sales Force, FundMiner, Paciolan) to enter prospect/donor contact reports and other relevant data in a timely fashion. Attend athletic staff meetings and development & Foundation meetings as needed. Present and regularly review top prospect strategies with immediate supervisor and other key members as appropriate.. Compose written correspondence, thank you notes, etc. NDSU is an EEO/AA-M/F/Vet/Disability employer. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 3 years fundraising and/or sales experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce) Experience using fund and gift management tools (FundMiner) Experience using a ticketing platform (Paciolan) Core Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences. Attention to detail, organization, problem solving and decision-making capabilities and experience. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, faculty, staff, students and the public. Demonstrated record of being a team player. commensurate with experience & qualifications
