Columbia, South Carolina, JOB SUMMARY: The Head Men's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for leading and managing the Men's Lacrosse program, ensuring alignment with the college's values, the Department of Athletics, NAIA regulations, and conference standards. This role focuses on recruiting student-athletes, overseeing team operations, and fostering their personal and athletic development. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1.Execute all aspects of the Men's Lacrosse program to achieve objectives aligned with the college, the Department of Athletics, and NAIA/conference regulations. 2.Recruit and retain highly skilled NAIA student-athletes for the Men’s Lacrosse team. 3.Develop, monitor, and manage the annual budget for the program. 4.Ensure that student-athletes and assistant coaches adhere to college policies, Department of 5.Athletics guidelines, NAIA regulations, and conference rules. 6.Oversee the conduct and discipline of student-athletes. 7.Develop and implement a marketing plan to enhance the visibility and support of the sport. 8.Organize and conduct team practices, including strength and conditioning sessions and competitive games. 9.Counsel student-athletes on participation in the sport and personal development, focusing on academic and athletic success. 10.Collaborate with Admissions and Financial Aid to recruit student-athletes. 11.Select, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and support personnel. 12.Monitor and encourage the academic progress of student-athletes. 13.Travel overnight as required for competitions and team activities. 14.Work evenings and weekends during the season and as needed. 15.Perform additional functions and duties as requested by the Director of Athletics. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1.    Bachelor’s degree, required. 2.    This position requires a valid driver’s license, good driving record and must be insurable by the Colleges insurance carrier. 3.    Proven ability to recruit skilled players for the respective sport.   4.    Ability to counsel student-athletes on personal conduct, academic performance, and athletic participation, with an emphasis on sportsmanship.   5.    Proficiency in preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports, particularly concerning budget-related data.   6.    Ability to make effective administrative decisions and judgments.   7.    Strong interpersonal skills to foster a cooperative environment.   8.    Ability to multitask and manage various responsibilities efficiently.   9.    Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level or equivalent, with a proven track record of success.  Must have knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
