Job Description

Shawnee, Oklahoma, The Assistant Cross Country / Track & Field Coach (Throws) coordinates specific components of team training such as strength training as well as coordinates training and logistics. This position will have specific expertise in the Throwing events. Primary purpose is to teach and coach student-athletes while assisting the head coach in the conduct of the program. Operates within the guidelines of Oklahoma Baptist University, GAC, and NCAA rules and regulations. Assess talent and recruit prospective student-athletes for all for all disciplines. Assist Head Coach in conducting and planning training and conditioning schedules. Assistant Head Distance coach with implementing practices as needed. Assist Head Coach in strength training and planning. Meet management for both Cross Country and Track & Field events. Plan daily practices; supervise team. Effectively teach track and field fundamentals and strategies to student-athletes. Serve as a positive, Christian role model for student-athletes. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Master’s degree preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to meet insurance requirements for driving university vehicles.
