Reports To

Campus Athletic Coordinator, Campus Principal, and District Executive Athletic Director

Primary Purpose

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries and illnesses while promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer collaborates with coaches, physicians, school administrators, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure student-athletes receive the highest level of care and are able to safely participate in athletics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
  • Current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC).
  • Current state athletic training license/certification (as required by state law).
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • Strong knowledge of injury prevention, emergency care, rehabilitation, and sports medicine.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

- Medical Coverage

- Emergency Preparedness

- Communication w/ Coaches, Medical Personnel, Parents, and Athletes

- Documentation (Maintain confidentiality, HIPAA, FERPA)

- Concussion Management

- Equipment and Facility Management

- Administrative Responsibilities (physicals coordination, compliance, medical forms)

- Education (injury prevention, Recovery Techniques, Hydration, Nutrition, Emergency)

- Collaboration (Athletic Coordinator, Coaching Staff, School Nurse, EMS Personnel

-Additional Duties (as assigned by Athletic Coordinator or Principal)

- Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Ability to travel with athletic teams as assigned.

- Work Schedule

  • Full-time, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and summer athletic activities as needed.
  • Attendance at practices, games, tournaments, and postseason competitions.
