Job Description

Idle Hour Club is located in Macon, GA, south of Atlanta and is the premier club in middle Georgia. Founded in 1912 Idle Hour has a long-standing history of excellence, the club has 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, two dining options, golf learning center, and rackets facility. The rackets facility is home to eight Har-true clay courts, five hard courts, nine pickleball courts, and a pro shop.

Position Overview

Idle Hour Club is seeking a motivated, energetic, and service-oriented Assistant Tennis & Pickleball Professional to join our Racquet Sports team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant club environment while helping grow both our tennis and pickleball programs.

The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching, member engagement, and delivering an exceptional racquet sports experience for members and guests. This professional will report directly to the Co-Directors of Racquet Sports and will play an important role in the continued growth of our department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality private and semi-private lessons in tennis and pickleball.
  • Lead adult clinics, junior programs, group drills, and club events.
  • Promote and support all racquet sports programming to increase member participation and engagement.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to members and guests both on and off the court.
  • Assist with tournaments, social events, leagues, and special club programming.
  • Help maintain courts, equipment, and overall department appearance as needed.
  • Perform racquet stringing services (additional compensation provided).
  • Represent Idle Hour Club with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm at all times.
  • Follow all club policies, procedures, and standards while helping enhance the overall member experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience in tennis, pickleball, or both preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and grow racquet sports programming.
  • RSPA and PPR certifications are preferred.
  • Candidates who are not yet certified must be willing to obtain the appropriate certification(s) within one year of employment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
