Chicago, Illinois, North Park University, a member of the College Conference of Illinois, would like to announce that applications are now being accepted for the position of Women’s Flag Football Graduate Assistant Coach. The assistantship will begin in August 2026 and includes tuition remission, a partial meal plan, and a $3,000 stipend per semester.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching and Player Development
•Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, meetings, workouts, and team activities.
•Provide position-specific coaching based on experience and program needs.
•Help teach offensive, defensive, and special teams concepts.
•Assist with individual skill development, including route running, flag pulling, coverage technique, quarterback play, communication, and football IQ.
•Support the development of a competitive, disciplined, and team-first environment.
•Help evaluate and grade student-athlete performance during practices, games, and film sessions.
Recruiting
•Assist with identifying, evaluating, and communicating with prospective student-athletes.
•Help maintain and organize the program’s recruiting database.
•Support campus visits, virtual visits, recruiting events, camps, clinics, and prospect communication.
•Assist with recruiting emails, phone calls, text messages, social media outreach, and follow-up.
•Help build relationships with high school coaches, club coaches, community programs, and prospective student-athletes.
•Maintain compliance with all institutional, conference, and NCAA recruiting guidelines and regulations.
Film and Game Preparation
•Assist with film breakdown of practices and games.
•Help create scouting reports, opponent breakdowns, and personnel evaluations.
•Assist in preparing weekly game plans and practice scripts.
•Support the organization of playbooks, call sheets, wristbands, and other football materials.
•Help track player performance, tendencies, and areas for improvement.
Student Athlete Support
•Promote academic success, personal growth, leadership, and character development.
•Support a team culture built on accountability, effort, discipline, respect, and service.
•Assist with team-building activities and leadership development.
Program Operations
•Assist with daily team operations, including scheduling, equipment, travel, meals, itineraries, and communication.
•Help coordinate practice setup, game-day setup, sideline organization, and post-game responsibilities.
•Support team meetings, academic check-ins, study table monitoring, and student-athlete accountability.
•Assist with inventory, gear distribution, laundry, and equipment organization as needed.
•Help manage social media content, graphics, highlights, and program promotion when appropriate.
•Complete other duties assigned by the Head Flag Football Coach, Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management, and Associate and Assistant Athletic Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
•A bachelor’s degree is required.
•Coaching or playing experience and knowledge of flag football rules and regulations.
•Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to teach offensive, defensive, and special teams concepts/schemes.
•Applicants must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e. frequent nights and weekends).
•Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
•Able to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
•A valid driver’s license is required.
