Assistant Tennis Professional

Job Description

The Assistant Tennis Professional will work closely with the Director of Tennis to deliver an exceptional tennis experience for members of all ages and abilities. This is a hands-on role ideal for a professional who loves being on court, brings positive energy to every clinic and lesson, and wants to grow their career at a club that values innovation and member service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach private and group lessons for adult and junior members across all skill levels
  • Assist in running club programming, including team practices, Cardio Tennis, live ball clinics, junior after-school programs, camps, and social events such as round robins and mixers
  • Support adult league play (GVTL and in-house flex leagues), including match coordination and team practice sessions
  • Help plan and execute club tournaments, socials, and special events
  • Provide outstanding member service on and off the court, building relationships across the membership
  • Assist with court scheduling, program registration, and member communications
  • Support pro shop operations, including racquet stringing and merchandise as needed
  • Help maintain the overall appearance and organization of the tennis facility

Qualifications

  • USPTA or PTR certification (or actively pursuing certification)
  • Strong playing background (4.5+ NTRP or collegiate/professional playing experience preferred)
  • 1–3 years of teaching experience at a club, academy, or similar setting preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; genuine enthusiasm for working with members of all ages
  • Experience with junior development pathways (10 & Under / R.O.G. progression) a plus
  • Racquet stringing experience a plus
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented with a professional appearance and demeanor
