Snyder, Texas, Position Summary
The Sports Information Director provides leadership and oversight for the College’s athletic communications, media relations, and sports information functions. This position is responsible for promoting and publicizing the achievements of student-athletes and athletic programs in a manner that is fully aligned with institutional branding, messaging, and communication standards, while ensuring compliance with College policies and all applicable Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC), National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) regulations.
The Sports Information Director develops and implements comprehensive communication strategies that advance the College’s brand identity and strategic priorities. The position leads continuous improvement efforts to enhance visibility, engagement, and the overall reputation of the College’s athletic programs across internal and external audiences.
Essential Functions
Leadership and Oversight
•Provides leadership for all sports information, media relations, and athletic communications functions.
•Develops and implements a comprehensive sports information and communications strategy.
•Supervises sports information staff, including the Assistant Sports Information Director and student workers.
•Establishes policies, procedures, and operational standards for athletic communications and media engagement.
•Ensures alignment between Athletics and institutional branding, messaging, and communication standards.
Communications and Media Relations
•Oversees the development, editing, and distribution of athletic stories, press releases, publications, and multimedia content.
•Serves as the primary liaison between the Athletic Department and media outlets.
•Manages and executes a comprehensive social media strategy for athletic programs.
•Maintains and updates the athletic website to ensure accurate and timely information.
Game Operations and Event Management
•Oversees sports information operations for all home athletic events, including statistics, scoreboard operations, public address, and live streaming.
•Coordinates media coverage and game-day communications logistics.
•Ensures quality control of live stream production and related technologies.
Records, Statistics, and Reporting
•Oversees the collection, maintenance, and reporting of all athletic statistics and records.
•Ensures accurate and timely submission of WJCAC, NJCAA, and NIRA statistics and reports.
•Maintains historical records and archives of athletic achievements.
Systems and Resource Management
•Oversees sports information systems, equipment, and technology used for statistics, broadcasting, and communications.
•Ensures proper maintenance and security of all sports information resources.
Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications
Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in sports information, athletic communications, or related field.
Experience with digital media, web management, and live streaming technologies.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekend as required for athletic events.
