Sacramento, California, Under the general guidance of the Head Women’s Beach Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Coach will support all aspects of the women’s beach volleyball program. This includes recruiting academically and athletically qualified full-time student-athletes, assisting with the planning and organization of practices and competitions, and supporting the ongoing development of athletic programming and team activities to help build a cohesive and competitive program.
The Assistant Coach will teach, mentor, and lead student-athletes while demonstrating the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population. This position will also support student development activities, including team bonding and study programs, to promote academic progress and graduation. The Assistant Coach is expected to maintain knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, conference, and California State University, Sacramento rules and regulations. The work schedule will include evenings and weekends.

Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited institution of higher education or TWO (2) or more years of work experience coaching;
1-2+ years’ of experience coaching in sport applying to;
Knowledge of NCAA Rules and regulations;
Proven ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff and the community;
Sound judgement, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality;
Knowledge of the respective sports' skills, strategies, and teaching progressions;
Possession of a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record at the time of appointment. Before operating a vehicle on state business, the applicant must complete and sign the University’s vehicle use agreement;
Ability to work during normal business hours, evenings, and weekends
Demonstrated ability to advance the Athletic Department and University toward diversity and gender equity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years’ of experience coaching given sport at the collegiate level;
1+ years’ of experience coaching given sport at the Division I level
