Boston, Massachusetts, Wentworth Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. This full-time role requires a motivated, student-centered leader to manage all aspects of the university's NCAA Division III tennis programs. Essential Responsibilities: Recruitment & Student-Athlete Development Responsible for building a competitive and sustainable roster Working in close partnership with the Enrollment Management team, the coach identifies, recruits and retains academically and athletically talented student-athletes Beyond the court, the coach prioritizes the holistic development of student-athletes, mentoring them toward academic achievement, personal growth, and professional readiness. Program Leadership & Strategic Operations This position oversees all daily operational and technical aspects of both tennis programs. Key duties include organizing practice sessions, designing strategic match preparations, developing competitive schedules, and coordinating team travel logistics. Because Wentworth utilizes external venues, the coach must actively network to secure high-quality off-campus facilities for practices and home matches. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for hiring and developing assistant coaches, managing the operational budget with fiscal responsibility, and executing all administrative tasks in a timely, professional manner. Active alumni outreach and fundraising campaigns are also essential components for the successful operation and advancement of the programs. Institutional Engagement & Compliance As a visible representative of the Athletics Department, the Head Coach collaborates broadly with faculty, staff, and Student Affairs to enrich campus life. Alongside primary coaching duties, this full-time position includes game day administration for other sports. The successful candidate must ensure absolute compliance with all federal laws, institutional policies, Conference of New England (CNE) guidelines, and NCAA Division III regulations. Qualifications Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree. A minimum of three years of successful tennis coaching and leadership experience, and a valid driver’s license.
