Denver, Colorado, Position Summary: The Assistant Athletic Trainer reports to the Head Athletic Trainer. This position assists in all aspects of the Sports Medicine Department. This position will oversee the health and safety of student-athletes of assigned teams. The specific teams will be determined by the Head Athletic Trainer. This position will also assist with inventory tracking, pre-season medical clearance and the overall upkeep of the athletic training room.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain overall Sports Medicine Department including injury care and prevention, injury evaluation and management, educating of student-athletes and coaches.
Maintain accurate medical documentation for student-athletes.
Ensure proper injury and treatment tracking of student-athletes.
Establish and maintain good communication with team physicians (Orthopedic and Sports Medicine).
Contribute to the growth of the department by bringing new ideas about Nutrition, Cardiac Health, Mental Wellness, Concussion research, etc. to the Sports Medicine staff.
Assist in the management of the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room.
Responsible for proper coverage during athletic participation of student-athletes, including practice and game coverage, both home and away of assigned teams.
Assist with insurance claim filing process as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of student-athlete injuries and illnesses.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Athletic Training
Certification through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
Two years of experience in the athletic training profession.
AED/CPR Certified (Professional Rescuer).
Error-free written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
Two years of experience working in Division I or Division II collegiate athletics.
Knowledge of SportsWare injury tracking system.
Experience maintaining files and documentation.
Experience with insurance claims and filing process.
Experience with maintaining confidentiality.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
