Job Description

Leadership

  • Direct all aspects of the varsity football program.
  • Develop a vertically aligned football program from middle school through varsity.
  • Build a culture emphasizing discipline, accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the district's athletic vision and strategic plan.
  • Foster a culture emphasizing character, academic achievement, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.
  • Supervise and evaluate all athletic coaches.
  • Promote positive relationships among coaches, athletes, parents, staff, and community members.

Athletic Program Administration

  • Coordinate all middle school and high school athletic programs.
  • Ensure compliance with UIL, TEA, district, and state regulations.
  • Develop athletic policies and procedures.
  • Oversee athletic scheduling and event management
  • Recruit, recommend, mentor, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Promote collaboration among coaching staffs across all sports.
  • Develop and manage the athletic department budget.
  • Monitor expenditures and purchasing.
  • Promote academic success and eligibility.
  • Encourage leadership, citizenship, and personal growth.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
  • Valid Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certification preferred (or ability to obtain if required by district)
  • Valid Texas CDL or ability to obtain (if required)
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification
  • Successful experience as a football coach and athletic administrator
  • Thorough knowledge of UIL Constitution and Contest Rules
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, and personnel management skills
