The Florida Yacht Club – Jacksonville, Florida

The Florida Yacht Club, one of the most prestigious private clubs in Northeast Florida and home to one of the region’s most active and successful racquets programs, is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and highly motivated Full-Time Racquets Professional to join our outstanding team.

Our racquets staff consists of six full-time professionals and 2–4 part-time professionals, all dedicated to providing exceptional instruction, programming, and member service. We are looking for a professional who has a genuine passion for teaching tennis, promoting the game, and helping players of all ages and abilities achieve their athletic goals.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a 5.0+ NTRP level player.
  • Hold current professional certification through a respected organization (RSPA, PTR, or equivalent).
  • Be willing and able to teach 35+ hours per week.
  • Demonstrate exceptional energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm both on and off the court.
  • Enjoy working with players of all ages and skill levels, from young beginners to nationally ranked juniors and high-level adults.
  • Be a positive team player who thrives in a busy private club environment.

About Our Program

The Florida Yacht Club features one of the largest and most active tennis programs in Northeast Florida, including:

  • More than 40 adult league teams
  • Over 200 junior players
  • Programming for every age and ability, from 4-year-old Red Ball beginners to nationally ranked junior competitors
  • Adult programming ranging from beginner levels through NTRP 5.0/A-level competition

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the racquets program, including:

  • Teaching private and group lessons
  • Coaching ladies’ teams
  • Junior player development
  • Tournament coaching for junior competitors
  • Assisting with tournaments, clinics, leagues, mixers, and special events
  • Promoting member engagement and helping grow participation across all programming
  • Supporting the professional staff in delivering an exceptional member experience

Pickleball teaching experience is a plus but is not required.
