The Longfellow Health Clubs is seeking an experienced, passionate, and growth-oriented High Performance Academy Professional to join our team at our Wayland, Massachusetts location. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated tennis professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to help shape one of the region's premier junior high-performance tennis programs.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical coaching abilities, strong organizational and communication skills, and a genuine passion for developing competitive junior players. This professional will play an integral role in creating a positive, high-performance culture while working alongside an experienced and dedicated team of tennis professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach high-performance junior players through academy clinics, private lessons, and match preparation.

  • Develop and implement progressive training curricula for high-performance clinics and player development pathways.

  • Collaborate with the Tennis Director on program planning, staff scheduling, and daily academy operations.

  • Organize, promote, and administer USTA and UTR tournaments, junior match play events, and competitive programming.

  • Monitor player development and communicate effectively with players and parents regarding goals and progress.

  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and energetic training environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, and excellence.

  • Work collaboratively with other coaches to continually enhance the quality and reputation of the academy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience in a private club, academy, or high-performance tennis environment.

  • Current RSPA, PTR and USTA Coaching and/or PPT certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience developing competitive junior players.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Meet, Chat).

  • Ability to organize tournaments, events, and academy programming.

  • Flexible schedule, including some evenings and one weekend day.

  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to and works closely with the Tennis Director at Longfellow Wayland Tennis Club

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including:

  • Base salary

  • Percentage of private lessons

  • Medical and dental benefits

  • 401(k) (non-matching)

  • Paid time off

  • $80,000-$100,000
