The Longfellow Health Clubs is seeking an experienced Tennis Professional to join our team at our Wayland, Mass. location. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to play a key role in shaping a premier tennis program. We are looking for someone who brings a genuine love for developing players and working with a dedicated team of tennis professionals.

The Tennis Professional is responsible for delivering high-quality tennis instruction, organizing programs and events, and promoting an engaging and positive tennis environment for members. This role includes coaching players of all ages and skill levels, supporting club operations, and helping grow participation in tennis programs.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Coaching

  • Provide private and group tennis lessons for juniors and adults.

  • Develop lesson plans tailored to varying skill levels.

  • Offer on-court coaching during clinics and adult team practices.

  • Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.

  • Coach at our summer camp.

Member Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with club members.

  • Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and professional atmosphere on and off the court.

  • Address member inquiries and provide excellent customer service.

Operations Support

  • Maintain equipment and ensure courts are safe and ready for play

  • Enforce club policies, rules, and safety standards

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., RSPA, PTR, USTA Coaching.

  • Previous coaching or teaching experience.

  • Strong knowledge of tennis techniques and strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and one weekend day.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to and works closely with the Tennis Director at Longfellow Wayland Tennis Club.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including:

  • Percentage of private lessons and clinics.

  • Range $70,000-$80,000 annually

  • Medical and dental benefits

  • 401(k) (non-matching)

  • Paid time off
