Morgantown, West Virginia, Assistant Athletic Trainer – Football About the Opportunity The Department of Sports Medicine within Athletics at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Football . This position will assist with the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries for football and/or other sports as assigned. Maintain injury records for assigned student-athletes. Maintain and oversee therapeutic equipment in the athletic training room. Serve as a liaison among parents, physicians, student-athletes, and coaches. Maintain Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI) status and supervise athletic training students. Assist students in mastering NATA educational and clinical competencies. Evaluate athletic training students' clinical skills. Prepare students for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination. Perform other duties assigned by the Head Football Athletic Trainer. Report directly to the Head Football Athletic Trainer and collaborate with athletics staff. Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and West Virginia University rules, regulations, and policies. Adhere to NCAA Bylaw 11.1 regarding Conduct of Athletic Personnel. Maintain compliance with the NATA Code of Ethics. Represent the University with professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct. Promote diversity, respect, and inclusion. Work cooperatively with all sports programs. Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making. Maintain confidentiality regarding student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Manage multiple priorities, extended hours, weekend work, travel, and on-call responsibilities. Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Head Football Athletic Trainer and/or Coordinator of Athletic Medical Services. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and licensure with 4 years of experience or Master's degree and 2 years.  A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Athletic Trainer (NCAA or Professional football experience preferred) Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered. All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
