Job Description

JACKSON, Mississippi, The Assistant Soccer Coach position reports directly to the Head Soccer Coach and shares responsibility for the success of the Athletics programs at Millsaps College. The Assistant Coach helps provide leadership and direction for the college’s soccer team, including but not limited to student recruitment, planning, training and development of players. This position supports the soccer program at Millsaps College and the Department of Athletics. This is a 12-month position. The compensation for this position includes a stipend and on campus housing and meals. Job Duties Recruit and evaluate high school and college athletes within college admissions and NCAA Division III guidelines; Comprehend the NCAA Division III philosophy emphasizing academic, athletics; Provide on field coaching of athlete skill development; Assist in the planning of practice sessions; Monitor academic progress by student athletes involving grade reports, study skill development, and counseling; Assist with the coordination of team travel and logistics, including vehicles, lodging, and meals; Assist in scouting opponents; Assist with fund-raising programs to augment operations budget; Maintain parent and alumni communication; Comply with all NCAA Division III, Southern Athletics Association (SAA), and Millsaps College guidelines; Accept game-day administrator obligations each semester, if necessary; Organize community service activities for team members and coaches; Participate in various other areas of interest for the College, Student Life, and Athletics; Accept additional duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
