The Assistant or Associate Director of Athletics supports the administration of the University's intercollegiate athletics program with a primary focus on NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance. This position assists with day-to-day compliance operations, documentation, education, and reporting to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of NCAA legislation, and the ability to work collaboratively with coaches, staff, and campus partners.
Job Duties
Assists with monitoring and administering NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance processes, including eligibility certification, recruiting activities, financial aid, and playing and practice seasons.
Maintains accurate compliance records and documentation and prepares required reports, forms, and submissions to the NCAA, conference office, and University.
Supports compliance education initiatives by communicating rules interpretations, policy updates, and expectations to coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
Assists with investigations, self-reports, waivers, and audits by collecting information, tracking timelines, and coordinating with athletics and campus offices.
Collaborates with admissions, registrar, financial aid, academic support, and athletics staff to ensure consistent application of NCAA and institutional policies. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree sports management, higher education, or a related field
2 years collegiate athletics compliance or a related NCAA regulatory role
Preferred Qualifications

While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, the University is particularly interested in candidates with demonstrated experience in NCAA Division II compliance operations, including a strong working knowledge of relevant rules, documentation practices, and reporting requirements.
Experience utilizing Teamworks Compliance and Recruiting platform is highly valued, as this role will engage regularly with technology systems that support compliance workflows, communication, and student-athlete management.
Additionally, candidates with experience in coaching or a strong interest in contributing to the University’s softball, volleyball or golf programs are encouraged to apply. Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
