Founded in 1895, Allegheny Country Club is a premier, family-oriented private club located in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, just 20 minutes northeast of downtown Pittsburgh. Nationally recognized for its tradition of excellence, the Club sits on 300 acres and serves a community of 560 member families across a rich array of year-round recreational and social amenities.
Our facilities include an 18-hole golf course, a historic clubhouse with multiple dining and event spaces, overnight accommodations, a fitness center, a pool and poolside café, extensive golf practice facilities, and of course, a thriving racquets program.
The racquets complex currently includes an indoor tennis building (1940) housing the pro shop, racquets office, and two Rebound Ace Grand Slam courts that double as four pickleball courts, four outdoor Har-Tru HydroGrid tennis courts, and a paddle tennis complex with a modern warming house and an elevated 180-degree view of four paddle courts. Current programming spans junior tennis and paddle clinics, junior camps, cardio tennis, men's nights, paddle clinics, and pickleball open play. Active teams include a women's PTL team, junior tennis team, and sixteen paddle teams (eight women's, eight men's).
Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Racquets Professional to join our team. Under the direction of the Director of Racquets, the Racquets Professional provides instruction and service to members through tennis, platform tennis, and pickleball lessons, along with clinics to junior and adult members. This position supports in delivering high-quality programming, promoting member engagement, maintaining racquets facilities, and ensuring an outstanding member experience.

The creation of Allegheny Country Club was spurred by John Moorhead, Jr. The local steel magnate took up golf in 1893 while vacationing in Massachusetts and brought the game back to the Steel City by burying six pea cans in the infield of the Homewood racetrack. In 1895, Moorhead and a group of Allegheny City industrialists purchased 15 acres in their neighborhood. Allegheny Country Club officially opened its doors in 1895 with a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, and stables available to the membership. Over the next seven years Allegheny Country Club would continue to expand until landing in its current location in the heights above Sewickley.
Home of the first 18-hole golf course in Western Pennsylvania, Allegheny Country Club, boasts a grand indoor tennis facility, with an additional four har-tru outdoor tennis courts, a paddle hut surrounded by four paddle courts, pickleball, and a thriving racquets program. The Swimming pool facility offers food and beverage service and casual dining, At the pinnacle of our property sits a 60,000 square foot clubhouse perfectly positioned for members to enjoy several outstanding vista views from every angle.
