Manhattan, Kansas, The Graduate Assistant (GA) Coach for Men's & Women's Golf is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring coach seeking a future career in collegiate athletics. The GA will gain hands-on experience working alongside Division I coaches, assisting with all aspects of a nationally competitive golf program while pursuing a graduate degree.
This position provides involvement in player development, recruiting, team operations, academics, and program branding, offering a comprehensive foundation for a future coaching career.
Daily Team Operations
•Assist coaches with daily practices and player development activities.
•Monitor practice sessions and work individually with student-athletes who remain on campus during competition travel.
•Track and organize player statistics, tournament results, and performance metrics.
•Assist with coordinating student-athlete transportation to practices, team functions, and other program-related activities.
•Support coaches with administrative and operational tasks as assigned.
Recruiting
•Assist with planning and coordinating official and unofficial visits.
•Help identify, evaluate, and track prospective student-athletes.
•Research junior, amateur, and international tournament results.
•Maintain recruiting databases and prospect information.
•Assist incoming student-athletes through the admissions and enrollment process.
Team Travel & Operations
•Assist coaches with travel planning and logistics.
•Help coordinate itineraries, transportation, lodging, and team communication.
•Support tournament preparation and on-site operations.
Social Media & Communications
•Create and post updates highlighting practices, competitions, team accomplishments, and recruiting activities.
•Assist in maintaining a consistent and professional online presence for both programs.
•Work collaboratively with athletics communications and creative services staff.
Academics & Student-Athlete Support
•Assist academic advisors and coaching staff in monitoring student-athlete academic progress.
•Monitor academic workload and communicate concerns to appropriate staff.
