Job Summary

The Tennis Professional is responsible for delivering a high-level tennis experience for members and guests through quality instruction, engaging programming, and exceptional customer service. This role includes leading private lessons, group clinics, junior development, leagues, and social events that increase participation and enhance the overall member experience. The Tennis Professional will serve as a key ambassador for the racquet sports department while supporting daily court operations and membership engagement.

Reporting Structure

• Reports to the Courts Director

Day to Day

• Lead and assist with tennis clinics, private lessons, junior programs, adult drills, and specialty classes for players of all ages and skill levels.
• Organize and support leagues, ladders, round robins, mixers, tournaments, and member social events.
• Build strong relationships with members and guests by providing professional, friendly, and responsive service.
• Conduct new member tennis orientations and introduce players to programs, leagues, and lesson opportunities.
• Help grow tennis participation through program promotion, member outreach, and retention efforts.
• Maintain courts, teaching equipment, and surrounding areas to club standards.
• Assist with daily court scheduling, reservations, and smooth program operations.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for all players and guests.
• Support cross-functional club events and work collaboratively with other departments when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of tennis coaching, teaching, or competitive playing experience.
• Experience teaching private and group lessons.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• USPTA or PTR certification preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
