Murray, Kentucky, Senior executive athletics leadership role with broad operational oversight and enterprise-wide responsibility.
Reports to the Director of Athletics. Serves as a key member of the Athletics executive leadership team with broad enterprise-wide responsibility across internal operations, strategic execution, resource alignment and development, culture development, and departmental performance. Position is intended to function as the principal day-to-day executive partner to the Director of Athletics, with meaningful involvement in major decision-making, leadership strategy, and cross-functional oversight across the department. Role shall include intentional exposure to executive-level responsibilities customarily associated with leading a Division I athletics enterprise.
The position is expected to provide visible institutional leadership, represent the department with credibility among internal and external stakeholders, and serve as a stabilizing senior presence capable of assuming expanded responsibilities as circumstances warrant. Serves as oversight of department in the absence of the Athletics Director.
Responsibilities , business operations, commercial and sponsorship development (including day-to-day oversight of Multi Media Rights Partnership), external and fan engagement, brand management and digital strategy, strategic communications and marketing, special events, contract management, state legislative planning, and all athletics programming.
Serves as liaison and meets regularly with key internal and external stakeholders. Represents the department in a positive manner and effectively advocates for the interests of the University and department.
Collaborates with key stakeholders, including coaches, student-athletes, University administration, and conference officials to align operational strategies with overarching departmental goals.
Oversees the Supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Participates in strategic planning and critical decision-making events. Develops solutions for difficult problems/issues.
Manages all contractual agreements with external vendors, operators, visiting institutions, and/or suppliers.
Engages in and leads multi-year fiscal planning, assessing revenue and expense categories in conjunction with the Director of Athletics and other campus/athletics staff members.
Manages the Athletics department policies and procedures manual. Recommends operating guidelines or changes to policy/procedures, as needed.
Serves as sports coordinator for one or more NCAA Division I team sports, to include sport budget and personnel management, NCAA/MVC compliance, and team athletic/academic performance.
Establishes and implements long- and short-range departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
Ensures compliance with all laws, policies, rules, and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents, University, NCAA, Conference, state and federal laws, CSC and other governing bodies/agencies.
Partners with Athletics Leadership to create and execute front office and revenue share operations.

As a member of the Murray State University Athletic Department, you shall comply with all applicable NCAA rules and regulations as provided in the NCAA Division I Manual. Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
At least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of all operational and administrative aspects of managing NCAA Division I team sports games.
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA and MVC rules and regulations, compliance standards and reporting requirements.
Knowledge of a range of major and minor intercollegiate athletics activities, strategic planning and programs.
Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
Exceptional program planning and executive leadership skills.
