Job Description

The Junior High Girls Athletics Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, and overseeing all girls’ athletic programs at the junior high level. This role ensures a positive, structured, and competitive environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and student well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and supervise all girls’ athletic programs, including scheduling practices, games, and tournaments.
Coordinate with coaches to ensure consistent program standards, expectations, and communication.
Support and evaluate coaching staff, providing mentorship and professional development as needed.
Monitor student-athlete academic performance and eligibility in collaboration with school staff.
Promote a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among athletes, coaches, and parents.
Oversee equipment inventory, maintenance, and budgeting for athletic programs.
Ensure compliance with district policies and relevant athletic governing bodies.
Communicate effectively with parents, administration, and community stakeholders.
Assist with game-day operations, including supervision, logistics, and event management.
Address student-athlete concerns and support a safe, inclusive athletic environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or related field (required).
Valid teaching certification (preferred or required depending on district).
Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Knowledge of UIL or relevant athletic regulations (especially relevant in Texas).
Working Conditions
Combination of classroom, office, and outdoor athletic environments.
Requires after-school, evening, and occasional weekend commitments.
Physical activity may include standing, walking, and demonstrating athletic skills.
Compensation
Salary based on district schedule plus applicable stipends for athletic coordination duties.
