Position Overview
Victoria East High School is seeking a high-energy, relationship-driven coach to join our football staff on the defensive side of the ball. The ideal candidate is a kid magnet—someone who naturally connects with student-athletes, builds trust, and brings daily energy and intensity to the program.
This position is for a coach who not only understands defensive football at a high level, but also knows how to teach it, inspire it, and build a culture of toughness, discipline, and relentless effort. We are looking for someone who can help lead our defense while fully investing in the growth of our student-athletes on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of the defensive scheme.
- Teach fundamentals, technique, and position-specific skills across the defensive unit.
- Plan and execute practice structure, drills, and defensive game preparation.
- Break down film, self-scout, and develop weekly opponent game plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with players, parents, and staff.
- Promote a physical, aggressive, and disciplined defensive identity.
- Assist with strength and conditioning and offseason development.
- Support academic accountability and player eligibility standards.
- Contribute to special teams and overall program success as needed.
- Help build and maintain a strong, positive football culture.
