Head Baseball Coach - Westfield High School

Reports to: Principal / Director of Athletics

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Head BAseball Coach is responsible for organizing and implementing the program for the assigned sport in keeping with the Spring ISD District goals, philosophy, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

             Bachelor's degree

             Valid Texas teaching certificate

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES::

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for organizing and implementing the program for the assigned sport in keeping with the District goals, philosophy, policies and procedures.

Experience:

3 – 5 years experience as a varsity, JV or collegiate coach or additional / equivilent experience as a participant in the sport assigned

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1.           Cooperates with the Director of Athletics and the High School Athletic Program and Facilities Coordinator in organizing and implementing the assigned sport within the overall high school athletic program.

a.           Provides necessary information for team rosters, eligibility forms and injury lists for assigned teams.

b.            Coordinates game schedules, travel plans and use of facilities for the assigned teams.

c.            Complies with the established method of inventorying and caring for equipment.

d.           Provides input for budget planning as requested and requisitions supplies as needed.

e.            Assists with care of the athletic facilities.

f.             Keep principal and athletic coordinator updated on schedule changes.

g.            Develops and/or maintains an effective parental communication system.
