Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Athletic Trainer to support the health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes. This position is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries while working collaboratively with coaches, physicians, parents, and school personnel to ensure student-athletes receive appropriate care.
Primary Purpose
Provide athletic training services for student-athletes participating in district athletic programs. Assist in the prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries while promoting the overall health and safety of students.
Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
- Master's degree preferred
- Licensed Athletic Trainer through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) required
- Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC) required
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required
- Valid Texas driver's license required
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques
- Knowledge of athletic training principles and best practices
- Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols
- Ability to assess athletic injuries and provide appropriate care
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, coaches, parents, physicians, and administrators
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Experience:
- Experience as a licensed athletic trainer preferred
- Experience working with secondary student-athletes preferred
