Montgomery, Alabama, Pro Impact Physical Therapy and Sports Performance has an Assistant Athletic Trainer job opening at Auburn University at Montgomery, in Montgomery, AL. AUM is a member of NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the care of student-athletes participating in the Auburn University at Montgomery athletics program;
Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by student-athletes while participating in AUM sports;
Coordinate all aspects of team care pertaining to assigned teams;
Evaluate acute and chronic injuries, fabricate protective equipment, provide daily treatment;
Administer emergency care, schedule appointments / referrals;
Implement prevention and rehabilitation programs for athletes;
Maintain detailed and current medical records;
Attend all assigned team practices and competitions;
Assist in daily maintenance of athletic training facilities and equipment;
Educate athletes on injury prevention, management, and return to play;
Communicate daily with all members of the sports medicine staff, strength and conditioning coaches, athletes, coaches, athletics administration and physicians;
Assist in the processing of medical insurance claims and related information;
Collaborate with sports medicine staff to update emergency actions plans and policies and procedures documents;
Train all coaches and staff on respective emergency action plans;
Oversee inventory and purchasing / restocking medical supplies and equipment;
Assist with pre-participation screening and physicals for athletes;
Administer preseason concussion baseline testing and follow-up testing as needed;
Assist with organization and execution of drug testing program;
Attend all required meetings scheduled by AUM athletic administration, including weekly Student-Athlete Support Services meetings, with athletic administration and strength and conditioning department;
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine and AUM athletic administration. Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from a CATEE Accredited Program;
· Maintain current certification and continuing education requirements as set forth by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification;
· Maintain current state licensure in accordance with the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers;
· Maintain current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid;
· Maintain valid driver’s license.
