Position Summary

This High School Football Coach will serve as either an offensive or defensive position coach within the football program while also fulfilling responsibilities as a classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, relationship-building skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both academically and athletically. Candidates must be aligned with the values and expectations of a high-achieving athletic and academic program.

Teaching Certification Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • A certified Texas teacher OR
  • Actively working toward obtaining Texas teacher certification

Preferred certification areas include:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

Coaching Responsibilities

  • Coach a specific offensive or defensive position group
  • Assist with practice planning, game preparation, scouting reports, and film breakdown
  • Develop athletes’ fundamentals, discipline, and character
  • Support offseason strength and conditioning programs
  • Promote academic accountability and positive campus behavior among student-athletes
  • Assist with equipment organization, travel coordination, and program operations
  • Maintain positive relationships with players, parents, faculty, and community members
  • Uphold district, campus, and UIL policies and expectations

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Provide effective classroom instruction aligned with district and state standards
  • Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment
  • Monitor student academic progress and communicate effectively with parents and administration
  • Collaborate with campus faculty and staff to support student success

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Previous coaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and positively mentor student-athletes
  • Commitment to academic excellence, character development, and team culture
