Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop quarterbacks in mechanics, footwork, throwing technique, decision-making, and leadership.
  • Assist in planning and implementing offensive game strategies and practice plans.
  • Analyze game film to improve player and team performance.
  • Teach offensive terminology, reads, protections, and situational football concepts.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress, behavior, and eligibility.
  • Promote sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and character development.
  • Supervise athletes during practices, games, workouts, travel, and team events.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and offensive staff on scouting reports and opponent preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state athletic association, and school policies.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all student-athletes.
  • Assist with offseason conditioning, camps, and summer workouts as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching or playing experience at quarterback or offensive football positions preferred.
  • Knowledge of offensive football systems, quarterback development, and game strategy.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor high school student-athletes.
  • Texas Teaching certification 
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Must pass required background checks and comply with district hiring policies.
