Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach and develop quarterbacks in mechanics, footwork, throwing technique, decision-making, and leadership.
- Assist in planning and implementing offensive game strategies and practice plans.
- Analyze game film to improve player and team performance.
- Teach offensive terminology, reads, protections, and situational football concepts.
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress, behavior, and eligibility.
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and character development.
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, workouts, travel, and team events.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and offensive staff on scouting reports and opponent preparation.
- Ensure compliance with district, state athletic association, and school policies.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all student-athletes.
- Assist with offseason conditioning, camps, and summer workouts as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching or playing experience at quarterback or offensive football positions preferred.
- Knowledge of offensive football systems, quarterback development, and game strategy.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor high school student-athletes.
- Texas Teaching certification
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Must pass required background checks and comply with district hiring policies.
