Grand Oaks High School is seeking a high-energy, knowledgeable, and organized Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach with a strong emphasis in pitching development to join our outstanding athletic department. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about developing student-athletes, building relationships, and contributing to a championship-caliber baseball program.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in coaching and developing the varsity baseball program, with a primary emphasis on pitcher development.
• Teach pitching mechanics, arm care, pitch design, game strategy, command development, and competitive mentality.
• Assist with daily practice planning, game preparation, scouting reports, bullpen management, and player evaluation.
• Support strength and conditioning initiatives related to baseball performance and injury prevention.
• Help oversee pitching workload management and long-term athlete development.
• Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, toughness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and the community.
• Monitor academic progress and support student-athlete success in the classroom.
• Collaborate with coaching staff and the athletic department to support overall program goals.
• Adhere to all UIL, district, and campus policies and expectations.

Qualifications:

• Coaching and/or playing experience in baseball, with strong expertise in pitching instruction and development, preferred.
• Knowledge of pitching mechanics, arm care protocols, player development, scouting, and game management.
• Texas teaching certification in English, Math, or Science, or ability to obtain certification.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to positively mentor and motivate student-athletes.
• Commitment to educational excellence and character development.
• CDL certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred.
