Job Description
The Assistant Athletic Director will support the Athletic Director in the daily operations of a large, comprehensive athletic program serving over 2,000 student-athletes across multiple campuses. This role is critical in maintaining compliance, supporting coaches and students, and continuing the culture of excellence that defines Lake Travis Athletics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the oversight and administration of all athletic programs (high school and middle school)
- Manage game-day operations, facility scheduling, and event logistics
- Ensure UIL and district compliance for eligibility, safety protocols, and reporting
- Support coach hiring, supervision, training, and professional development
- Coordinate transportation, budgeting, and inventory management
- Serve as a liaison between coaches, parents, administration, and the community
- Oversee athletic department communications, including website and schedules
- Help develop and implement strategic plans for program growth and student-athlete success
- Handle student-athlete awards, banquets, and recognition programs
- Step in as needed to represent the Athletic Director
