Position Overview

Lone Star High School is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven educator and coach to serve as 1st Assistant Volleyball Coach and Assistant Girls Track Coach. This position is part of a highly competitive athletic programs with strong traditions, outstanding student-athletes, and a commitment to excellence both academically and athletically. Lone Star competes in volleyball and track and field as part of the Rangers athletic program.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organization, and communication skills while contributing to a positive culture focused on student growth, competitive success, and character development.

Primary Responsibilities

Volleyball (1st Assistant Responsibilities)

• Assist Head Volleyball Coach with all aspects of the volleyball program (Varsity, JV, and sub-varsity levels)

• Coordinate daily practices, game preparation, and player development plans

• Assist with program operations including scouting, film breakdown, camps, scheduling support, and equipment management

• Promote athlete development, accountability, and positive team culture

• Support offseason strength and conditioning initiatives

• Assist with community engagement and program promotion

Girls Track (Assistant Coach Responsibilities)

• Assist with event group coaching and athlete development within the girls track program

• Support practice organization, meet preparation, and competition management

• Contribute to offseason development and performance training

• Help foster a culture of work ethic, competitiveness, and athlete growth

Qualifications

• Valid Texas teaching certification (preferred areas: Math, Science, English, Social Studies)

• Previous coaching experience in volleyball preferred

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Ability to build relationships with athletes, staff, and parents

• Commitment to program development and student success

• Willingness to obtain and maintain CDL certification
