Position Summary
Humble High School is seeking a dedicated, high-character Varsity Football Assistant Coach committed to developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally. The ideal candidate will support the Head Football Coach in all aspects of the football program while fostering a culture of discipline, accountability, toughness, and excellence aligned with the traditions and expectations of Humble High School Athletics.
This position includes teaching responsibilities based on district certification needs and candidate qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities
Coaching & Program Development
- Assist the Head Football Coach in the organization and operation of the varsity football program.
- Coach assigned position group(s) and contribute to offensive, defensive, or special teams planning.
- Develop and implement daily practice plans and skill development activities.
- Assist with game preparation including scouting reports, film breakdown, opponent analysis, and game management.
- Support offseason strength and conditioning programs.
- Promote athlete development emphasizing character, leadership, accountability, and sportsmanship.
- Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and team events.
- Assist in maintaining equipment, locker rooms, and athletic facilities.
Student-Athlete Development
- Monitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and community stakeholders.
- Encourage student-athlete success in academics, citizenship, and post-secondary opportunities.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor on and off campus.
Campus & District Expectations
- Follow all UIL, TEA, district, and campus policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with coaching staff, administration, faculty, and feeder programs.
- Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and athletic department responsibilities.
- Support overall campus initiatives and maintain professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas teaching certification or ability to obtain certification.
- CDL certification or willingness to obtain CDL preferred.
- Previous football coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete development and program culture.

Work Schedule
- Teaching and coaching duties follow the Humble ISD academic and athletic calendar.
