Job Description

Tarkington Independent School District is seeking a motivated and student-centered professional to serve as a High School Football Coach and English Teacher. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, relationship-building skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both academically and athletically. Coaching responsibilities will be assigned based on experience and program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach High School English courses in alignment with Texas TEKS standards
  • Assist with all aspects of the high school football program, including offseason, strength and conditioning, practice organization, scouting, and game preparation
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and community members
  • Support the overall athletic program and campus culture
  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement, character, and accountability
  • Participate in UIL and district-required professional responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification or ability to obtain certification
  • CDL or willingness/ability to obtain CDL preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Previous coaching experience preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff and campus team
